Eligibility

Target patients

• Older patients who are being admitted due to trauma

Local study conflicts

• No co-enrolment conflicts

Inclusion Criteria:

• Male or Female aged 65 y.o and above
• Diagnosed with traumatic injury requiring hospital admission
• Have been admitted to hospital within the proceeding 24hours ( of injury)


• Potential participants will be identified after admission( most probably in trauma) and:
• Have an abnormal primary injury ( some degree or injury)
• Admitted within proceeding 24hrs.

Exclusion Criteria:

• Patient taking anti-coagulant and or NSAIDS
• Known to have inherited bleeding conditions such as Willebrand disease.
• Patient transferred from another hospital (this does not include direct ED to ED transfer)
